Thrilling live audiences throughout the UK, Session A9 has earned the title of ‘Scotland’s Super group’. They are a traditional Scottish band led by Capercaillie fiddler Charlie McKerron.
Fiddles are key, with McKerron joined by Peatbog Fairies' Adam Sutherland, Gordon Gunn from Wick and Shetland fiddler, Kevin Henderson. These fine fiddle players tour with bands such as Capercaillie, The Treacherous Orchestra, The Gordon Gunn Band and Fiddlers Bid. The line up is completed by David Robertson on percussion, pianist Brian McAlpine and Marc Clement on guitar.
Their repertoire is derived from many contemporary composers with the music being modern yet still managing to incorporate the traditional sound. The band has recently released their second CD ‘Bottlenecks and Arm Breakers’ which is a fantastic follow up to their debut album 'What Road?'
